From a few weeks back. Haven’t been getting out at all over the last few weeks. This probably lacks a point of interest but I’ll let ye decide. Canon 20D, 17-85mm IS, ND 4 grad filter, polariser. 1/25, f/16, iso 100 hand held, processed in PS elements 2
Think the focal point is getting lost with all that sky. Consider a crop off the top to reduce the amount of sky and it brings the grass and road/path in more.
Just me thoughts.
H..
My work monitor (that I’m viewing this on) is purposely set a little on the dark side. When I look at this shot I loose some of the foreground detail.
I’m not sure what it would look like on my home monitor but while scrolling down the image I quite liked the idea of cropping just below the path. The clouds are by far the dominant feature on this one and would be a pity to remove some to bring in, what looks like, a low feature foreground.
This is a nice picture and the sky is great. The foreground lacks any strong interest for me to balance the strong quality of
sky. I definitely would have used the road more in his image if i was taking it. When doing landscapes you don’t have to always
use wide angle lenses. Telephoto landscapes are great also The technique of telephoto landscapes and
compressing the image could have worked in this shot. I would have maybe used a lens of about 100mm to pull the road into the
picture and also bring the sky into the frame. By doing this it would have brought the road into the picture and made it a
strong leading line and give the image some interesting foreground and would have balanced up with the strong sky nicely
