ok here goes, this is my first posting of a few pics so go easy on a newbie!!!
have been a member for a while now, but due to moving out to Dubai i have had little time to post anything.
hopefully i will post more often now that im set up here.
c&c welcome as always…
this one is of my girlfriend playing for the Dubai Celts 7’s – good throwing technique too!!!
can anyone comment on the pics above? id like to know where to improve as im new to photography.
never knew sport would be so hard to capture, suppose its the sheer speed of the game
The first one has just too much going on in it. You want to focus down on the action. You want to try and get a clean image of action, without too much distraction in the background and also not too many people in the photo.
Image 2 – no ball, not clearly focused, heads/limbs cut off, the image isn’t sharp.
Ideally you want action running towards you, a good tackle, someone scoring, or a good sharp clear image of a ball being passed (face on).
You need to use a fast shutter speed, centre focus and follow the action.
My website has a large selection of galleries of rugby games. Not all brilliant images, but it might give you a little inspiration, I hope. :-) I also have a page with sports tips, mainly rugby stuff.
cheers Paul.
some great points to take from your website info. i will use them the next time i get out.
thats the first piece of advice i got on sport.
