Well – 2 of us made it to the Botanical Gardens today! Shame on the rest of you for citing bad weather as an excuse!!

Here are a few of my faves: (not had time to clear up the dust bunnies yet!!)

Brutally honest critique / suggestions welcome as always.

    Thanks for looking.

Nice shots Tim. Really sharp. Don’t think I would have managed anything much myself if I’d made it. The Macro on my camera is not the best. Still working on making a Noely special :D

Very nice Tim, with the exception of the aforementioned dust bunnies. The last image doesn’t do a lot for me. Perhaps you should have posted them in the Macro section though. Mind me asking what lens was used?

    Thanks for the comments, all.

Thought about posting in macro, but it was 6 and 2 3s really!

I used the Canon 100mm Macro lens.

    brutally honest eh?
    well they’re all good-
though 3 and 4 would have the edge…

mostly because of the depth of field issue,
which would determine our maximum enlargement-

dof will only be a matter of millimeters, or less,
so any detail will need to be capable of maintaining resolution.

If there is detail which looks like it needs to be sharp,
    because the form suggests it,
then it will be slightly less than satisfying if it isn’t.
    Sharp, that is.

Lovely compositions , colours, and form all round though-

    It’s 1 and 3 for me.

Number 5 has a bit of dirt on the sensor and none of the points/torns are pin sharp, which is a pitty cause it has some lovely colours.
