I love up around there in the Dublin mountains, but for some reason I have never managed to take a photo that does it justice. The one problem with this shot as far as I can see is the placement of the road, which just doesn’t feel right.
Usually when taking a road, if you are going for a symmetrical (?) image, where the road is dead straight you can get away with a centered position, when the road is winding, or turns within the image, your best bet is to have the road leading in from the bottom left corner. This tends to lead the eye into the picture as you follow the road.
If you get the chance to head up there again, try it as suggested, and see if it makes a difference.
Hope you don’t think I’m being negative, just throwing out some pointers.
I appreciate it KPM, again if everybody said it was perfect… how could I improve.
Over to the right though is very bare and I would have missed a lot of the mountain to the left.
I like the idea though and will keep it in mind for other snaps.
Thanks for taking the time to check it out.
