Tried some photos of the main stage in Newtownsmith Park yesterday – boy, was it much harder than I thought.

Main problem was accurate focus – need to practice more.

Here are two examples, both taken from the barrier in front of the stage (with lots of other eager photographers around me) :

    Good shots.
The second one is my favourite. Good composition with great expression.
I would crop the black space behind the singer on the first photo. The singer has small white spot under his lips, easy to retouch.

Brilliant first shot Frank, perfectly captured and absolutely love it. Can’t actually see any way of improving it. It looks to me as though the ‘white spot’ Roberto is referring to is actually a piercing. Nice exposure on the second shot to keep the detail in a white shirt, though a slight pity to have cut off part of the left arm and the headstock of the bass. Both good shots though and like them a lot. 8)

That was a great concert, Trans global underground were excellent BTW.

Think I’d crop out some of the right side to balance it up a bit.

Did you get any shots of the 3 ladies of Trio Bulgarka?

TGU were great (as were the 3 ladies !)

    Here’s 2 of Trio Bulgarka :

Regarding the previous comments – thanks for all.

The ‘white dot’ is in fact a stud – did debate whether to take it out or not.

Agree on the cropping on the first one – might be better with less black space.
