Gary McParlandParticipant

Thanks for looking :)
Garystewart kennyMemberDaveMurdochParticipantYet another great shot Gary 8)
I`ve been dying to get a good shot of here but my 17mm lens just isn`t wide enough :(RASMITH32MemberNice shot Gary, you can almost feel the energy in the sea. When I look at the castle and the cliff edge to the front of the castle it just doesnt look right. With the background light i would expect to see a more shadowed if not siloutted castle cliff front. Dont get me wrong great image but that for me just knocks the balance a little
PD_BARBSParticipantsirvadMemberTis a nice shot Gary but to be honest, i dont think its as good a standard as you have set for yourself. I find the sticks on the left a bit distracting, i keep getting drawn to them for some reason. Looking at them again here, are they stick or what are they ? the water is bang on with the movement. Dont get me wrong, its a good image that id be proud to have taken, but IMO its not A Gary McParland Cracker.
Gary McParlandParticipantCheers guys, really appreciate the feedback on this one. Seems to be a bit of a marmite shot, Personally i really like it and thought it one of my best from this location but i take on board what your saying.
I blended 3 exposures as the light beaming from behind the castle was impossible to capture the dynamic range with a single image. Maybe i could have left the castle in a bit more silhouette and maybe ive pushed the detail too much but from what i remember at the time i could see detail on the castle. Might try and tone it down a bit to see how it looks.
I know what your saying about the sticks Sirvad, unfortunately its quite a large type of seaweed that is washed up all along this part of the coast and hard to remove as it gets wrapped around the rocks. Thanks again for the comments
