The Dark Side is winning. The D700 performs very well, better than the 5D MkII.

Leica seems to be very far behind, not much bang for the buck

Yes, the M8 looks pretty poor but in reality the M8 is just a device that allows you to create digital images with Leica lenses.

This test is just stating the obvious, the latest top of the line cameras will give the best possible image quality… I would consider the marginal differences between those top cameras negligible. In the end it’s all about you being comfortable with handling that piece of metal for a few hours a day and getting the photos that you envisioned… I am sure, there are many who can take excellent photos with the M8.

I wish there was something more reasonable (pricewise) to take M-mount lenses. What with the Epsons not being made any more and the Panasonic G1 having such a small sensor vs traditional 35mm. I wait for the cheap full-frame M-mountable, not holding my breath ….

Yes they do all seem to be converging. Fujifilm’s dynamic range seems great for an ’06 camera, hopefully the other will follow their tricks.
