Unfortunately I’ve just had a very bad experience with this crowd. I still use E6 120. Dropped a roll in for the first time as a ‘test’ to see what they were like. Very surly and wouldn’t speak..grabbed the film off me and dumped it in a bag..I asked about processing 220 C41 and the only answer I got was ‘No’ It took 20 questions to find somebody who could.

Went back 2 days later and Lo! they’d lost the film. I persisted and they ‘found’ it. On its own in a drawer. I then found out why. They’d processed it in C41. It looks very different! Their attitude however sucks. No apology and had to be forced to either refund or give me a free film. Apparently they couln’t give a rat’s A…. for screwing up a job.

I shall not be darkening their door again.

    Have to agree with oldschool.
I got a couple of rolls of 120 done recently.
They were ok, no problems, but I have to agree, customer relations isn’t their strong point.
I get the impression of “We’re the only ones left doing this processing. We’re doing you a favour. (Why don’t you switch to digital like normal people anyway, and save us the bother).
At €8.50 per roll of 120, they should be giving each of us a big hug when we walk into the shop. :D

I got an E6 kit from Gunns recently (as everyone knows who’s been in Gunns, totally different attitude in dealing with photographers)
Have been a bit scared of trying it out so far, but I’m going to shoot a roll of unimportant shots soon, and give it a whirl.

E6 is not a problem to do. There are either 3 bath or 6 bath kits available. I use to do a lot of this for a pro photographer back in the day with a Jobo machine and always used the 6 bath for consistancy and better colours. Just make sure you have clean spirals / racks and maintain the temperature otherwise you can end up with unintended push-pull to which E6 is very sensitive.

    Go for it!

I’m using Peak Imaging in the UK for my E6 processing…it needs to be cut properly as it’s Xpan sized…I don’t trust the only lab in Ireland with it! Peak are superb, not too expensive & quick turnaround, usually just over a week. Not one of my trannys has ever been scratched or cut wrongly. I use BPD Photech also in the UK for drumscanning…expensive, but worth it.
