Early Morning Fog Bank

Was up extra early this morning
and had to take a different route to
work. I know this area and its interesting
enough but this morning with the early
morning fog it was more interesting!
I like this – the foreground and fog create a nice layered effect. For me though I think that there is a bit too much sky… just a personal opinion.
This is the kinda pic that awakens all senses… Sitting here I feel the chill in the air and the freshness of early morning up the nose..
When you cover the clouds half way to where the sky above the clouds are completely covered it gives this picture a totally diferent feel… More like thunder and rain rolling in from afar…
For me this picture captured more than just another early morning. Great one aoluain :D
Very nice, great colours, nice mood to it and just a nice scene. I might have panned the shot down a small bit as the top of the picture down to the top of the cloud is not adding anything

I understand the points about te sky excess but as
i mentioned before I like plenty of sky.I couldnt pan down as there was a hedge right below
here is a 2:1 crop.Yes, like KW said, nice layering going on-
I don’t like your crop because it removes all the dark tones in the foreground-
the bottom layer, perhaps.Lovely scene, especially like the weeds standing on the edge of the fog.
And the clouds above it.But since you mentioned cropping,
what would you think of an 8×10 with some off each side?Nice light Alan-

I would agree with the 2:1 crop, there is too much lost.
Not really up to speed with the 10X8 crop, had a mess around and decided
on an 8X10 or the opposite I think :?I think this works better than the portrait format . . . am I jabbering?

Very fresh indeed and worth getting up early for.
I prefer the first shot, maybe wit just a touch of the sky cropped, down the to the top of left sided clouds.

Deei really like this shot Alan. just proves not every shot needs to have obvious foreground interest.i like the original one best too, the more sky the better:D i love the wide open space in this, reminds me of home :cry: the only thing is it feels a little cut off on the right hand side.
