Lovely photo. Reminds me of the photos on some photography books. Really really nice!
ExpresbroParticipantNo..not at all Jay…that actually does improve it. I’m chuffed with the positive comments for this one. I thought it was a good one as soon as I took it, but sometimes ya never know. Your eagle eye is spot on by the way. I thought I’d been careful not to have too much repetition. I actually did two pieces of cloning…one for a red timber pole and another for some kind of electric light which just spoiled the image. I left the person in the seat, but I was in two minds about it. I thought it was like a distant adult keeping an eye on their children. But I think it looks good with or without.
Thanks again folks…and Soda…I’ll be emailing Cadbury’s tomorrow… Might get some free Chocolate out of it… :D
AliParticipantIn a league of it’s own Robbie, this is absolutely stunning, composition etc, spot on. :) Green with envy. Very well done.

Yeah I like it with the person left in the seat too… as you say like a distant adult keeping an eye. But if people look closely they’ll see it’s another child (the person to the child’s left is an adult I think…!?) I just took them both out to see what it would be like. I like the sense of solitude and freedom it gives them.
but really, only small things to a great shot… well done again.
GrahamBParticipantCracking shot Robbie, really well spotted and taken.
Oh and never say it was an accident.
You framed it and compsed it perfectly. Take the credit.ExpresbroParticipantOh no.. no accident in this case Graham.. I knew what I was shooting when I shot it. But like all street/candid photography you are at the mercy of the moment. Sometimes you’re presented with a scene like this and if you’re lucky enough and prepared enoughyou’ll be able to grab the moment. For every shot you get there are probably 5 or 6 more that you miss. But sure isn’t that the fun of it… :D
BanjoParticipantOutstanding shot Robbie.
A perfect picture in a calendar for the month of April. :)nolongerParticipantAbsolutely fantastic shot. Well spotted. The only thing I wish is that the foreground flowers weren’t in shade – but really, that’s just a tiny quibble. The composition on this shot is spot on.

That’s my jaw hitting the keyboard. It’s a photo you could only dream of having in your collection. Congrats and well done. Now…where can I find a field of dafodills??? :)
ExpresbroParticipantHehehe!! Thanks IWF …that made me smile..and I’m wrapped up in bed with a rotten dose of a cold right now.
You could head down to Farmleigh in the Phoenix Park any given Sunday and find those daffs there…can’t guarantee the girl in the easter bonnet and dress though..
Thanks again…
Robbie
8)Alan RossiterParticipantA cold, eh?
Could be a case of lying-around-in-the-daffodils-waiting-for-the-perfect-shot-itis? Darm winter bugs. Still, it was worth it.
I’d love to head to the Phoenix Park but if I told the wife I was travelling 80 odd miles to photograph flowers she’d have me committed…or locked out or something like that. She rang her mother when I spent 2 hours trying to get the perfect shot of the Mothers Day flowers I bought her.
Aaanyway, still a fantastic photo. I’m in awe.
ExpresbroParticipantSure why would ya come to Dublin when you have some fantastic parks down your neck of the woods :D
All my family (brother, sister etc) think I’m mad…not an artistic bone between them…can’t understand why I’d want to be taking shots of strangers or flowers or hills…
It’s a hard life being an Amphoto ….
