Personally, it’s definitely not my area: I want to draw a face on it!
I think a face on the egg would be great. I like the photo concept very much and agree the light reflection takes a little from the end result.

I like it. The highlight is a little distracting. My eye is also being caught by the slightly darker marks on the bright part of the right hand fork. A few small adjustments to the lighting would make this a great image IMO. Possibly rim lighting would work by showing more texture in the egg.
p.s. I’m useless at lighting, so take this with a pinch of salt. Well done
