I was thinking about starting a bidding war between the two but decided against when I realised
i couldn’t be arsed. i went with Eircom simply because I already have the router and I know the
broadband user name and password. Plus I’m really lazy. I probably will cancel once my free months
are up and then move to BT. maybe if I can be bothered. I might jsut hack next doors though. Basically
fleh mc bleh.
Yes basically Eircom have sucked my will to live and I now basically a shell of the man I used to be.
it still baffles me how they have stayed in business for so long and yet consistently offered the worse
customer service i have ever witnessed. Seriously there are Cambodian fruit sellers who know more
about customer service delivery than the executives in Eircom.AMPParticipantI read this with great interest, I used to live in an apartment in Chapelizod, its a few years back now, cant even remember the name of it, its next to the west county hotel.
Anyways, when I moved in there was a phone connected already, which I used for a few days, hey free phone, it got disconnected a few days later, so I called eircom to have them reconnect it and gave them all my details. They downright refused to believe that there was ever a phone in the apartment, said the number I gave them was non-existent and they didnt even have the apartment complex on file.
I left it, dial up was crap anyway and broadband wasnt so easy to get then. A few days later the same phone that never existed rang, a family member, line was obviously working again.
I did as anyone peeved at eircom’s ineptitude would do, hooked my pc upto it and used their old dial up for the next few months. never did get a bill..
Funny that Chapelizod is still an enigma as far as Eircom are concerned.MDCPhotographyParticipantI moved to the Republic about a year and a half ago……. to cut a long story short………. told Eircom to take their brand new line they put in and stick it were the dial up is still king and went to BT…………………
Just been told the other day that my 3mbb service is being upgrade to 8 for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!! Yippeee
EIRCON
GrahamBParticipantHey MDC – be careful on that one. You are probably get ADSL2+. If you do not have a brand new router your old one will default back to extremely low
speeds. Worse than dialup. Your providor should be sending out a new router before the upgrade goes through. Just one to watch. It’s caught a lot of people out.GCPParticipantHey all, as an ex-Eircom shareholder I’m trying to decide here if I’m offended by the way you are dragging this “fine” company into disrepute.
