While on a 2 week stay in the village of Mijas in southern Spain, I decided to go to a bullfight in the very small bullring in the village.
Managed to get a ringside seat and took a few shots.
The first is one of my favourites even if it has a bit of lens flare.

The first shot is of Juan Jose Padilla and not entirely sure who the second bullfighter is.
    C&C appreciated.

Good shots Neil and certainly something I would love to see.
I like the fact that you captured many different facial expressions at the ringside, joy, horror , disgust etc…
Boy, those trousers are tight in the first one too :-)

    THanks Deebo.
I wasn’t sure if I would be able to sit through this myself and I did find it slightly disturbing to see these bulls killed but sitting on my own surrounded by locals from the village made it quite enjoyable to see them enjoy this part of their culture.

Photographically, these are fine, but the content sickens me. I would personally love to stab the bullfighters using several impliments to see if they still thought it was sport.  Not something I would support. Sorry

I think your brave for posting shots on such a contenious issue, but hopefully this one doesn’t get out of hand.

I think they are two great shots, especially the first one, it conveys the sport very well, although the tight trousers don’t do it for me.

What ever happened to… Thou Shall not Kill????
Sickens me too, to see a poor animal on its Knees begging for mercy and been shown none.

My first thought on viewing these shots were……omg the poor animal but tried to see
past that and look at the shots, the first shot is a little underexposed (imo) especially
the bull, and would probably be better if the matador had been facing the camera, then
on second thoughts maybe not with those tight trousers!! The second shot really shows
    the movement of the bull.

I was in this particular bullring two years ago, the oldest bull ring in Spain and the tour
guide was very passionate about the whole bull fighting thing, it is such a big deal in
Spain every young boy’s dream is to be a famous bullfighter, it is a very big part of the
culture and I think will be around for a long time to come.

I still have to put in the same category as hare coursing, badger baiting, and fox hunting
    though :(
