elements 9

Hi all For the past number of days when i save an image as a jpeg from elements 9 in the folder i save it to on my hard drivei see a blank sheet with the top right hand corner turned down and when i click on this it opens elements to show image. This use never happen before as i always saw my image without opening elements can anyone tell me what is/or am i doing wrong.regards saber
