Hi Guys
So was wondering has anybody any knowledge with dealing with the local County Enterprise Boards,i have developed a new business and i have already started it and funded it myself, however for the business to really grow any further i was considering the notion about private investors & government funding. The business is not export lead or manufacturing & falls into the services sector, there is currently about 20 or so of the same type of business in Ireland so its not unique,my question is there any such funding to expand this venture or grant aid for machinery/staff etc. From what i gather they provide support by the way of tutoring & they are more focused on Manufacturing & Export.
I have dealt with my County Enterprise Board here in Waterford and while you are correct in saying that they love to hear from those who will be in the manufacturing and export led areas; they listened to my idea and we are still talking and trying to develop the idea further. My project is not export or manufacture, for the record. It is historical based and quite a niche area.
Also, try the Leader Partnerships if there is one in your area, they are better than the Enterprise folks in some respects as they are quite willing to give grant funding to what the banks/lenders/Enterprise Boards would consider risky or niche.
