Epson 3800

I recently got the 3800 and wondering if someone can advise on proper set up the color if slightly off when i print a picture
I printed a picture on the photo R300 and the 3800 where the quality really impresses from the 3800, the color fails.
the color from the R300 if same as the origional picture I must be doing something wrong can anybody put me on the right track as in do you have to use certin paper in the 3800?Have you got a proper printer profile for the 3800 as each printer/paper combination differ – sometimes greatly ?
Lucky you…I wish I had one.
