I use a Lowe Pro Orion Trekker II. 2 compartments, room for camera with lens and another lens plus other bits and bobs. Top compartment is good also, room for flask, sambos, waterproofs etc also has a large pocket in top section that a water bladder could be fitted into.
It is comfy to wear all out on the hill (did Ben Nevis in sep and used this pack and thought it was great.) Some would say it’s a tad on the small side, but at least you dont end up carrying too much gear.

Gear loop on the outside of bag for attatching tripod to, just be sure to clip it on to bottom of sack or it will fly around and smack you in the face when bending down to tie laces, smell flowers, pet puppies etc.. I got a shiner from petting the dog!

    Sinead.

Unless you’re going to be doing a lot of distance carrying of the tripod, there’s no point in getting the carbon fibre version – the price difference doesn’t justify the weight benefit unless you’re really going to use it. The stability is the same in both versions.

I’d advise putting the money you save from getting the aluminium version towards a nice lens.

    Cheers,

The most important thing is two eyes and decent vision.. it all starts with this

I can’t wait for the holidays. Hope to get out shooting most days. Think i’ve more than enough to be going on with for the moment, will get cheaper tripod.

Yeah, can buy all the equipment in the world, but if you don’t use your two eyes and some imagination, it’ll mean nothing.
