I bought a Nikon D7000 from a shop here in Dublin. It was Nikon A grade equipment as in not new but had something wrong with it when bought new so fixed up by Nikon and sold at 2nd hand price. hat was Jan this year. There is a 6 month guarantee on it.
Yesterday whilst out shooting my kids in the park it suddenly stopped shooting and an Err message appeared in the LCD. When you press the shutter it sounds as if the mirror is flipping up but no photo is taken. The file produced is completely black.
I took the lens off it and put it back on but no joy. When I got home I changed lens from the Tamron I was using to a Nikon prime. Fired the shutter a few times and eventually it fixed itself. Today I went out and put the Tamron lens back on it and fired off a load of shots of the dogs on the beach and no problems.
Has anyone else come across this and if so what was the problem. I do model shoots every so often and have one coming up on 6th June and I do not have a back up body so now I am not 100% confident in my camera.
After doing a quick search on this Mark, my suggestion would be to bring it back to the shop you bought it in and have it checked while it is still in the warranty period. There does seem to be a few known issues that might cause this. It may also be a memory card issue.
Apparently there is even something on page 306 of the manual relating to this.
