HI
Still trying to do cystal glass pruduct photogrpahy & seriously need some help here….
Remeber I am a beginner so laymans terms if possible please.
Have my studio kit 2 spot lamps & light tent and some of the photos are coming out ok? but I would prefer them to be sharper. Using a white background and these will be posted onto a white background website so have to be very very white. I am getting variations between greys & pinks.
Using 30D & macro lens 100mmf2.8 and use either the macro setting but mostly AV priorty at 2.8 and ISO 200,Read that changing Exposure compensation could help??
Any suggestion?jb7ParticipantTry +2 or more-
You’ve been talking about these for a while,
but still no examples-?
j
ThorstenMemberI’m with jb7 on this – post an example of the result that you don’t want to have!
clawlessParticipantSorry, were I take the photos doesn’t have the capability to download them,
When I get back home (away for the week) I will download some, but until them I am stuck, & need to get these right asap.
I know its hard to comment without seeing the image – I appreciate that. The main ? is how to I change the EV on my 30D?
Sorry if this is another stupid ?ThorstenMemberTo be honest, for something like this, I would switch to using the camera in manual mode. You can then fine tune the exposure to whatever you need it to be, independent of what the camera might be trying to do.
To answer your question on how to set exposure compensation – press the shutter release half way to activate the cameras meter. While the cameras meter is active (i.e., displaying values in the viewfinder or the top screen) use the rear thumb wheel to dial in negative or positive exposure compensation. Don’t forget to set it back when you are finished!
clawlessParticipantThanks Thorsten, That has made a huge difference.
I have so much to learn!!!

Me too!!! I find that the more I learn the more I realise I don’t know! The phrase “Ignorance is bliss” has a certain ring to it  Glad I could help.
