Eye-Fi Pro X2 8GB SD card and CF adapter

I bought these Eye-Fi Pro X2 8GB SD card and Synchrotech CF adapter thinking I could use them to wirelessly download images from my Nikon D700. I was wrong. The D700 only takes type 1 compact flash cards, the CF adapter only fits type 2 compact flash slots (like in most professional Nikon and Canon cameras). Both cards have been tried once in my D2x, (it works by the way) however this is really my back-up camera so I’ve decided to cut my losses and sell them.
The Eye-Fi cost €130 from the Apple Store and the CF adapter cost €47 including postage from synchrotech.
I’m looking for €130 for the two in other word the adapter comes free!does this only work if you have it previously assigned to a network – I mean it wont attach to any open wireless network and send images via that ?
I’m not very good with this stuff, but it claims to work with any network including ad-hoc type?
