This latest airshow stuff Jim is fantastic. All we can realy expect in Ireland is a flyby by an Air Corp helicopter. Maybe the |Salthills airshow might be on the agenda this year. Some great shots there Jim. I think the last one here is probably my favourite of the lot – the power of the jet against the backdrop of the land and the size of the pilot against it all is just something else.
ALan.
BrickeeParticipantThanks Alan :)
It was a fun and loud weekend and I have many shots of differant planes and formation flying to go thru It could take months :lol:Jim
irishshaguaParticipantDeeboParticipantMagic shots Jim. I would have loved to seen this show
Last shot is a gem as Alan mentioned, the backdrop and scale works fantasticDee
BrickeeParticipantJonathanWizartarParticipantThe 3rd image down is an incredible shot, I love planes and your shots of the Raptor are sooo sharp. What type of lens did you use?
constantineParticipantCool shots Jim, excellent.
Wish I was there.
Whereabouts was this show?? Not in Ireland i’m guessing.
BrickeeParticipantThanks for your comments,
Jonathan, there were shot with a canon 70-300 IS USM.
Constantine, This show was at Langley A.F.B. in Virginia.
RobMemberLovely work there Jim. I can only imagine the noise and power of these
beasts. Really well done…Rob.

Afraid not. The Salthill airshow has been cancelled for this year.. They’re hoping to bring it back next year but nothings certain yet.
Baldonnell Airshow hasn’t been on since 2000, so as far as airshows go in Ireland, ……
I know there are smaller ones, but for some real excitement, you really need to see some military might![sigh] Oh well…
Leo.
Oh. Almost forgot. Jim, love the shots!
BrickeeParticipantThanks for your comments Rob and Leo.
The noise from this plane is deafining.Jim
Noely FParticipantSweet shots of a sweet plane! There’s only 3 flying and a ban on exports too! 1 will be making an appearance at RAF Fairford and possibly Farnborough. Much prefer a mig 29 or a Sukhoi myself
