I’m looking for a bit of help to setup a facebook page for a company. I’m wondering do I need to contact facebook or is it like a normal page. I think the biggest difference is that people click like on the top of the page instead of adding you as a friend.

You don’t need to contact Facebook. You can just go ahead and set up a page.
A good way to get a company Facebook page noticed. is to find a town page that is local to the business and post a link to it there. For instance, if I had a Facebook company profile and my business was based in Antrim, I would go onto Antrim’s Facebook page and post a link to my business.
