Falconry Outing

Our camera club had an outing with a local falconer today, here’s 2 shots from
the day.

Hi Martin,
I’m not big fan of selective colour but #1 has someting about it
that I like.
The grass in front of the face (despite being out of focus) is a little distracting although
this may have been outside your control.I wondered while viewing what the full colour version or the
whole bird popped might be like.The background is nicely out of focus in #2 but I can’t help feeling the
bird could have been sharper.Well done.

John – I see what you are saying. The grass I didn’t notice until I was working on the photo on
my PC. I’ll try and load up some other versions of #1 along the lines you suggest.
#2 could be sharper but I like the colours in it and the catch light in the eye.

Martin.There’s a lack of sharpness overall in #2 and a lack of feather detail that ruin it for me.
#1: It’s rare that b/w works for me in wildlife. This isn’t one I’m afraid. That crossing blade of grass doesn’t help.
