Fanore through pinhole

I spent a nice day at Fanore during July and sought out a few images with my diy 5×4 pinhole camera.
There is nowhere quite like it.
(all shots with 5×4 diy pinhole camera; focal length 45mm; pinhole diameter 0.3mm; f150; 12-36 seconds exposure per image.
Fomapan 100 rated at 50 iso and developed in Rodinal 1:100 for 30 mins semi stand).[url]

Isabella, I’ve used stand development with Rodinal and Delta 400 in the past to reduce down the large amount of unwelcome grain I was getting.
IsabellaParticipantvery interesting, just looked it up. id never heard of it before. thanks!

beautiful.
why such low dilution/long dev time?
Thanks Isabella.
Mark is correct about the less coarse grain, but the really big advantages of semi-stand development (where very dilute developer is agitated at the start and halfway through processing) are its compensating effect, whereby the developer exhausts itself in areas which require greater development – such as bright highlights – whilst remaining acting in less-exposed areas, and the fact that stand development is also largely insensitive to variations in exposure, and allows for the development of films rated at different speeds in the same batch.Compensation has the effect of boosting shadow detail whilst preserving bright highlights. This is great for rendering delicate sky details while at the same time yielding great shadow detail.
I heartily recommend that you try it sometime.
IsabellaParticipantsounds wonderful, yes i must give it a go.
do you use the same dilution and time with any dev/film combination?

Yes, the technique can be used with any dev or film combination. I have only ever used it with Rodinal though and the time remains the same for any filmspeed type.

It would be great if you could get that 6×9 built. Your lo-fi images are always worth waiting for.
