I’ve decided my next lens will be a wide prime. I have a 50mm as everyone does, but I find it’s too narrow, especially on my crop 600d. I already have a Sigma 10-20mm so I’d like something in between. Maybe 28-35mm or something like that. I’d like something fast too. f2.8 at least. Generally just a good walkaround lens. Small and light is desireable but not mandetory.
Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking of the Canon 28mm f1.8 – but what else is worth considering?
28 to 50mm lenses tend to be good lenses to serve as general walkabout lenses. Obviously on your 600D you would need to be mindful of the crop factor, and see after the crop factor, which lenses would fit those fields of view. Can’t go wrong with a small light prime for walking around, although these days, I tend to omit the dslr altogether sometimes, and opt for something smaller when walking around. I’m a nikon user though, so have no knowledge of specific canon lenses to recommend, unfortunately.
