Feeding the pigeons

Been a while Ciaran, great shot.
I really like the sense of chaos with the pigeons
but the relative calm of the chap feeding them.
Not sure that makes sense.
Shame about that cherry picker in the background.ciaranParticipantCheers Graham.
Yeah the hoist in the background is a killer. I spotted it as I was taking it and by the time I repositioned myself for a second shot without the hoist, the moment had passed. I’ve tried cloning it out but it got very messy, so in the end I decided to just live with it. Thanks for commenting.
ExpresbroParticipantNice shot Ciaran. I love the positions that some of the airborne pigeons are frozen in…especially the two on the extreme left and the two on the extreme right….they are like mini shots within the main shot.
markdonParticipantI like this one ,but have to say that cherry picker kills it ,you could try and select the left side of the arc ,flip it then paste it over the cherry picker ,only a thought ,I think it would be a mess to try and clone it out

Nice as usual…..like most have said the lift in the background does distract……….but it really did not catch my eye “hard” until I had read some of the other replies………..Since the attraction to me in this photo is the man and the birds other things are read in my mind but do not send up a red flag……….
just my thoughts
richiehatchMemberNice shot Ciaran…. nice timing and lovely processing…! The vignetting works very well too…! Super

brookiedParticipantmervifwdcParticipantThis is my second time to take a look at this shot. I really like it, but would love it without the cherry picker. What about loosing the arch as well? make it all a plain wall? That would make it a lot easier. It really is a superb shot.
Merv.
RestlessNativeMemberWorks quite well as a square crop if you loose the cherry picker and the top pigeon near it and go out to square from there. Also takes the man off centre which I prefer.
mervifwdcParticipantI really like the top left pidgeon, and if you leave it there, the crop does’nt work :-(
Merv.
ciaranParticipantI’m with Merv on this one.. the pigeons on the left are a little too good to be cropped out. I definitely can’t clone out the cherry picker and leave the arch, but I may give the suggestion of leaving a blank wall a go. Thanks for the comments on this one. If I manage to remove the hoist without butchering the shot, I’ll post the revision.
GrahamBParticipantThe endless search for perfection.
It’s a great shot Ciaran, I really don’t think you need to
change it. The problem with this site at times is that we can pick up on things other people
would never notice. By this mean, the average Joe Bloggs would never even notice the hoist.
I reckon if you even attempt to take the hoist out you will end up destroying the picture. Not that
i doubt your PS skills in the slighest I just don’t hink you need to do it.
The rest of the picture is strong enough to compensate for the hoist.SusieSMemberexellent and scary shot. (scary for me, I have a birdfobia).
absolutely too meny birds.ciaranParticipant
