    I’m pushing my luck here-
    ‘Put the kettle on-‘
    might be an alternative title-

From the 31.7 nationals mentioned elsewhere-

… and there I was expecting to see a row of Strats and Teles,
    vintage of course.

The missing mast top is, well, missed, but then you can’t have everything
(I know – I’ve tried to get everything before and failed). Looks like some nice
detail overall, but at this scale it’s difficult to judge. Well controlled with the
light too. Slightly fresher weather than we had, by the look of it.

    Avast there Rob

You shouldn’t comment on these nautical shots without knowing the lingo.

The missing bit at the top of the mast is a crow’s nest.

Fenders refers to the small barrier around the hearth where they’ll be boiling up the
kettle that JB refers to. That’s in the galley. Where the galley boy is nursing his
    sore bottom.

Fresh is what sailors get when a pretty girl passes them (sometimes known as a doxy, or a docksy).

Fresher is a first year at the school of sailing.

    I’m in tears Pete, tears…
What a classic way to finish my day at work.
    Thanks for that.

I hope JB sees the funny side. You know how serious these
seafarers get. I don’t want a marlin spike betwixt me shoulder blades.

Sadly people always feel the need to poke fun at things they don’t understand. I must admit I feel the same way about corn on the cob.

    Ooh. That hurts.
I know my mains’l from my focs’l and my cutlass from my windlass.
It’ll be a sad day when the Euro replaces the doubloon in the sailing world.
Or when a sheet becomes something you spread on your hammock.

ahhhhrrrrr That’ll do for me lad. You’ll be all right so long as you keep one hand for the boat and one for your self.

I never go to sea without me cutlass.
