Few shots from my lunch break on Wednesday
-
MartinParticipant
Taken around Dublin Castle and the civic offices in Dublin City
I like the first shot, the others I don’t think are up to much…nice to get out from work for 50 mins to shoot a role of film though
Thanks for looking
MHolga shots, desnobbed in PS
aoluainParticipantVery nice Martin,
For images that were PROCESSED DIGITALLY in PHOTOSHOP
seriously though,
yea I like them very much I have to say.
I am waiting on a couple of rolls of neopan to run through the 120 cameras.love the mono Martin, i would’nt have a fave of these they are all equally appealing.
Nice one
RobMemberLunch break, you lucky bastard…
The final image here is probably the most appealing for me, followed
closely by the second, which would have edged it were it not for the
bush/tree protruding into the frame…Wonderfully sparse and simple, just pure form…
MartinParticipantThanks Alan and Rob
Rob: Lunch break, you lucky bastard…
I always take my lunch break unless its raining outside. Feck them their getting enough out of me…
Another shot from the role, Wasn’t sure about this one but think its growing on me… my fav from the role i think
jessthespringerParticipantThey are all brilliant Martin, in a nonsnobbish way  (I think I’m in for stick for a while about that now  )
I love that one your not sure about, really strong. Love the court house? picture too.
The sky looks nice and dark in them all. Did you make a wee filter for your Holga at all?Good work.
Sinead
aoluainParticipantAh Sinead it will wear off after a while, the novelty that is
Martin, I love this too, lovely shapes, thats it I was debating whether to bring
the Holga out tomorrow on the Scott Kelby walk, but Im doing it now after
seeing these.Thanks Martin
MartinParticipantThanks again,
Sinead: Court house, presume you mean the one with your won holding the scales. Its one of the entrance gates into Dublin castle. Was a court at some stage i think in history, maybe when the brits were kicking the crap out of us…
No filters on my Holga, not because im snobbish:-) but because I just like the straight look of a holga in strong light. I do have some nice small filters for the Rolleiflex that fit on the holga that I must try on it at some stage. My holga seems to darken blue skys nicely which I really likeaoluain: Enjoy the Kelby walk, fingers crossed you get some sun, enjoy

She’s holding the scales of justice, from the time when Ireland was ruled from Dublin Castle.
Dubliners noted that she had her back turned to the city…I like the last of the first batch, and the last one posted-
The Holga seem to suit this type of picture…PitmaticMemberSome nice stuff going on there and always good to get out and think about something other than work for a while :)
If i had to name a fav it would be 2 even with the bush   :) still nice. 1 is very appealing to me that peripheral blurring is always interesting to me.
Personaly I dont care if its film/digital/pinhole whatever if it works it works :)
Thanks for sharing
MarkKeymasterEddieParticipantMartin, nice work, one and four are my favourites, the first one should be a joy to print. I am always amazed at the lovely clouds the Holga produces. There are some nice streets behind Arbour Hill prison that might make good Holga images if you lunch break stretches that far, Luas stops near by.
AlessiaParticipantI really like the firts one (my favourite) and the last one…. It’s a nice idea use the lunch break to take pictures…. I think I should start to do the same…. irish weather permitting…. :)
