Some surfing pictures from the beaches of Portugal….
As usual, C & C welcome!
Cheers

jb7Participantcool, really like the first one, tho maybe a tighter crop taking out the rocks and the beach would add to the drama, the ‘ how did he do that?’ factor.
especially as you’re presenting the picture really big; its nice and sharp, so maybe you can afford to throw away a few pixels on the web.
just a thought.RobertoMemberI would crop the first photo as suggestied by jb7.
The second one, I would crop and convert to b&w.TaraMemberRobertoMemberTaraMemberthat’s so much better Roberto, I’m working on a few others at the moment,
must remember to resize my images too.
thanks for the tips……
cheers

AliParticipantReally like the first one Tara, i think the crop you have suits it. I love Robertos version of the second.
Brian_CParticipantI’m planning a surfing photo trip soon as I work with a surfer dude so he’s agree to do a shoot. Anyway, I like your pictures alright, the second one though that big tree in the background kinda takes away from the action of the surfer.
That said, two very good attempts. What lens and focal lenght were you using?

Hmmm.. that’s not a tree, that’s a rock!

Love the timing of the first shot and agree with roberto on the tight crop! The second shot is not well focused though loosing a bit in my opinion, but then again it’s Portugal, where i was born, so i love it! hehehe
going there on the 16th for a couple of days i will see if i find some time to shoot some surfers and post here!
TaraMemberYep, it’s a big old sea stack in the background, the lens i was using was a 50-200mm.
Thanks for the comments everyone! Really helps the learning process!
Cheers

EnygmaParticipantNice shots! I was in Portugal recently and to my eternal shame I didn’t take a single surf shot out there. Spent too much time surfing!
