…and blue
Went out today fer a spin to take some shots, had some joy with these after a little PS, despite this the originals were nice too. These are taken near Rathgormuck (near the Comeraghs), Co. Waterford.
Second is a HDR from 1 RAW exposure.400D, Sigma 10-20mm and Polariser
Any C&C appreciated
cathaldParticipantLike the both of these great work
The clouds in the sky are stunning
and with the blue sky and green grass
it works very wellCathal
eshortieParticipantThanks Cathal.
I like these too, I prefer the first simply because it’s not HDR haha. Ialways feel as though I’ve cheated with HDR :DThe polariser definately helped enhance the scene
5faytheParticipantHi Evan,
I think you have captured 2 very good images here.
The cloud formations are really extraordinary.
I would be tempted to crop the bare patch at the bottom of
#2 but that’s only an opinion.#2 is also a little large. I think a reize to 800 pixels max on the longest side
gives us a better chance of seeing the whole image without having to scroll.Well done.
John.
eshortieParticipantThanks John, I’ll keep them smaller next time, I’m using a 17″ 1920×1200 monitor so it looked ok to me lol.
It’s the clouds that really caght my eye and made me take this. I was in taking a panorama of town where the clouds and sky were rubbish, then on the way home in the car I saw this and had to make something of it.
BrickerParticipantVery nice, well done.
#1 is very well composed and executed.
#2 I would prefer if it wasnt for the bare ground. That lens is on my wish list…. all I need is money.

Hi Evan,
I realise that some members are lucky enough to have a screen capable of viewing larger images but many
of us either use laptops or our screens can only accomodate smaller images.Mark has a recommendation in FAQ re this:
3) Are there size restrictions ?
Photographs posted should be no wider than 800px, this is to accommodate most members screen sizes.Apart from not being able to see the full image we also have to scroll to read the text.
Again nice images.
Cheers,
John.
mgstParticipantReally like the cloud formations and the colours just a little corp off the foreground in the second.
Mick
eshortieParticipantNo problems John, will make sure next time to resize properly :)
Will have to aply that crop and see how it works but afraid I’d have the image looking longer due to the fact that no more room exists at the top.
Brickr: I know how ya feel I’ve been saving ages to get a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8, finally ordered it the other day :D…..part time work in supermarkets doesn’t pay well for stdent lifestyle and photograhy haha.
The Sigma is a friggin great lens and you’ll be delighted when you get it trust me.
