From what I know, you need to be careful when subscribing to these back-up services – in terms of speed of your broadband service. ADSL (applicable to most cable) means Asynchronous, which means that there are different speeds for uploading and downloading – you get more bandwidth for taking stuff off the web (downloading) than you do for sending stuff from your house (uploading). This (I have been told) is to prevent normal punters from running web businesses from domestic cable connections. It also means that you are told that you have a higher speed (both ways) than is the case.
