It’s not to easy to comment on the conversion without seeing the original colour version. Plus, if it was all done in Silver Efx pro, how much control did you have on the look and feel of the final conversion. My question is this, What was your reasons for choosing this look and feel?
I like my B&W conversions to be darkish and contrasty. Looking at the image, the light is very flat. Probably not the best for doing a conversion. The red and/or yellow channels seem a little bright and thus you’ve lost some detail in her face. The blacks for my liking could be a little darker too.
It’s been a while since I used Silver Efx. I forget what it’s like to tell you the truth. Why didn’t you use channels or the black and white filter in PS to convert it. You might learn more about conversions by doing it manually.
Personaly I prefer black and white images to be a bit more contrasty toobu that said as mentioned I dont really get using ready made presets/pugins for doing BW conversions its much more fun and educational to play with the image your self and see what you can do sometimes its quite unexpected and that can sometimes be a result in itself.
You can also use calculations in PS to creat nice results.
Too me the face seems to flat not sure if thats the conversion or not and there is not enough distinction between the hair and skin a bit more pale rather than pale and interesting if you get my meaning.
