Need to practice my panning but for a first go I was reasonably happy with how these turned out. Using an 18 – 55 with no IS.

    #2

    #3

    #4

    C&C please.

They turned out well but the sky is dominant in two of the four which doesn’t make the panning as obvious.

Another thing about your non IS – if you do us a lens with IS, turn it off – it tries to counteract the panning movement and won’t let you do a good job.

Very good photos, and with the kit lens panning is not easy. As Alan said there is a lot of sky in them, but no much you can do about that with a 18-55mm.

Nice C n C and also about the IS, I didn’t know that, not tried panning yet but eventually I will.

Photos themselves are quite good for a kit lens and yes #1 is my fav too.

I didn’t know either – I didn’t read it anywhere but I did try to pan at a MotoX recently and nothing came out as I wanted – I just assumed it would be the IS as this does try to counteract movement – makes sense really. The next time was far more successful.
