First Portrait Baby shoot

Hi all this is my first real shot at shooting some baby pics, any critics welcome. I picked this shot as I like the way the baby is looking away and almost dreaming.

Hi Fstop. I can’t see the image. Maybe if you put after it that this will fix it.

Hi F Stop,
I like the lighting and processing but I’m not too sure about the fact that the baby is looking away. I think that would work for a wider shot but since this is a close-up and there’s no much else for the viewer to look at, it’s slightly disconcerting that the baby is ‘focused’ on something which isn’t in the pic!
Just one view :)
Regards.

Hi Fstop, I can see it now thanks. I’d agree with the last post about the processing and lighting, but would kind of disagree about the effect of the baby looking away (even though I can see the point that was being made). I think the expression on the face lends to the feeling that he is deep in thought rather than being focused on something outside the shot. I think the hand supporting his head is a lovely addition to the shot as this adds a caring feeling. Beautiful shot if you ask me. Well done

I think it has a certain amount of appeal.

The main thing is that it is a lovely expression on the childs face.

It might be a tad underexposed, but don’t take that as a fact as it is hard to tell on this uncalibrated monitor I’m using at the moment.

I’m not sure what to make of the hand… granted it serves a function for the sake of holding the childs head in taking the photo, but it does seem a bit lost or something. Make what you will of that observation.. it might just be me overanalyzing things.
