    Hi Everyone,

Im starting to get into photography and am trying to get my head around alot of the fine points. Ive taken some nice pictures in the past, but because they were point and shoot (pure luck) Im not going to show any of them.

This is the first one Ive taken that i actually put some thought into, I was experimenting with DOF and thought it came out ok. It’s kind of blurry in the background but it was very windy and I wasnt using my tripod. Im using Photbucket to post my images, mightnt give the best quality for posting, is that what most of you use?

While I’m posting (sorry if this is a taboo subject) but do people usually put the copyright logos on their photos here? I checked the rules and a few of the stickes in the announcements section, but couldnt see what the norm was, not that anyone will be robbing mine! Also is their a reccommended image resolution size?

Its nice in black and white too, almost looks better! What do you guys think?Rip into it, its only my first.

Its certainly a character full nose. Why does my mind go off on dirty tangents when looking at it.

I like teh colour in the first one but the eye is a lot more visible in the mono version. Maybe a shallower DOF would have blurred the background abit more and made the face stand out a bit. Nice though.

Thanks for the reply. I took one with the background blurred, but I tried to get the birdhouse in focus too by decreasing the aperture.
