I took those of one of my boys and am only starting to venture into all of this but I would love feed back
Thanks everyone :)
Alan RossiterParticipantOK, here goes…hope you’re sitting down!
Firstly, some people won’t click on to your thumbnails to have another look. There’s several threads on how to do this but if you post the URL of your image from some web hosting site such as http://www.photobucket.com of http://www.flickr.com or Imageshack you will be able to place your image directly into the body of the thread. Copy the URL, paste it here and highlight it then click on the “Img” box you see above you when composing a thread. it’ll look like {img]your url[/img} except the outer brackets will be square too. This’ll do the job.
Secondly resize your images so that they are 800 pixels on the long side. You can do this with most image software such as Photoshop or there’s a free one called Irfanview that I frequently use. Just google it. It’s easy to use. Your second image in the group is huge and can’t be viewed. Also at over 1Mb in size a dial up member will loose the will to live before it loads.
Anyway, that out of the way – the images themselves. I can only base any judgement on the thumbnails but you seem to have a good eye for people composition and with working an image. The first is very central but the childs character dominates the image. There’s a little noise in the image but that’s another days conversation. The second looks to have some selective colouring. This doesn’t always work but does in this case. The third is one I’d stick on a mantlepiece if it were my youngster – plain and simple but very calming. For a first post I trhink you’ve shown talant. Can’t wait for your second.
Alan.
learnerParticipantThank you so much for the feed back, yep the first pic has work to be done to the background so it has a lot of noise. I have asked in stores about photoshop/elements been compatiable with windows vista an was told its not yet?? So all I have for editing is picasa 2 (free and very simply  )
once again thank you and I will go the photobucket route :)Ita
Alan RossiterParticipantHi Ita,
I’ve run Photoshop on Vista. I tried out Photoshop 7 when I got my laptop some months ago and it worked fine. I now have CS2 and I’ve tried a trial version of CS3 and all work OK. Vista can be complicated with other software given it’s infancy but it does work with PS.
By the way – start thinking of a new name!
Alan.
learnerParticipantThanks Alan,
Not sure about new name yet I’m thinking :?
Managed to put pics proper  (I hope)Alan RossiterParticipantmylesrantsParticipantwelcome
everyone is nice here and i love your eye for the frame. you obviously can compose a shot well
but photoshopped to death. the middle one is cool the way there is a hue of red left on the kids chinlearnerParticipantHi mylesrants,
Wish I had photoshop, so only editing with 1st pic is changes to septia, and soft focus added. I want phoptshop so bad so hoping with my birthday and xmas coming I’ll be lucky :PI’m trying to learn and broaden my pic taken so I’m delighted with this site
Thanks
Ita
