Hi, I have been registered a while but never ventured to post yet.

I was using the kit lens on my 400d and couldn’t manage to get any closer.

I am interested toknow what lense you were using
Beautiful detail for your first macro images.
I am not sure whether to buy a dedicated macro lense…..try a reversal ring.or attach close up filter such as Cokin +3.
Any advice.

Hi Beeker40,

I was using the kit lens that came with my 400D the 18-55mm lens, I did have to crop quite a bit. I’ve never heard of a reversal ring before. Tried a +2 filter on a different lens with no success found it very hard to focus. I would like a dedicated macro lens too (Its on my list of wants :D )
