    hi lads,
so today i went off to a horse show and took my first few pictures (170 in total )
the shutter setting was at 500 and the ISO indoors was set at 1600, outdoors it was at 100 and on TV setting
can i please have some comments and what i need to improve on (keeping in mind im a total noob)
in pic 3 how do i blur the background or do i need a bigger lens?
    cheers jamie

Well done on posting up your first pics!
First impressions are the first two are a little on the dark side, I see you are using Shutter priority?
I think thats TV on Canon?? And I can see why you chose it, you wanted to get a fast shutter speed to
freeze the movement and get a sharp picture, but there are many ways of doing that, if you had chosen
AV Aperture priority you could have selected the widest aperture which probably would have been around
5.6f if you were using your lens at full stretch? This would have thrown the background out of focus for
you, and you were absolutely correct in upping the ISO as this added to the faster shutter speed.

Third and fourth are brighter but are on the soft side. So it is swings and roundabouts, what you gain on
some settings you will lose on others. You can only push your lens so far to achieve what you want and
sometimes it just wont do what you want….then it starts to cost money  So know the limits of your
lenses and use them accordingly, but most of all enjoy it! :D
