First time wedding, some shots and thoughts

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback.
eas from earlier: Yeah, that is the grooms mum finding her seat just behind his shoulder, I didn’t realise you needed ninja training to dodge and outmanouvre relatives hell bent on immortalising the rear of the heads and arms!
Joseph: Almost all the shots were at F4 unless it was for a particular reason. I just didn’t trust the autofocus on my 80-200 to get it spot on at longer lengths so the F4 gave me a bit more wiggle room than going wide open and the possibility of getting both eyes on at least one person in focus. I left the camera on auto-iso for most of the ceremony with a limit of 3200 and used a monopod but still got some shaky shots and mis-fired autofocus. No. 5 was at 135mm on the 80-200 at F4, iso 400.
I only used two lenses all day, the aging 80-200 complete with dodgy contacts and F0 errors and the superbly super superb 24-70 2.8. I filled a 16GB card, but shot the entire day (apart from the getting ready part at the brides house, she wasn’t game for that for some reason) and continued until I literally collapsed into bed sometime around 1am. Around 900 shots got uploaded after deleting the ‘inside of lens cap’ and ‘blur of green grass’ shots!Rob: I would say the first 40 minutes were a disaster, I didn’t have any shots I knew were half decent and was getting a little nervous but in the end got swept away with the ceremony and got some shots that were presentable even if they weren’t going to win any awards for creativity or interpretation! Then I settled into it and in the end really enjoyed the day. Every tiny scrap of preparation came in useful. I’m so glad I didn’t go in green, especially since you can’t avoid relatives forever! #
John: Cheers :) I made them fully aware of my experience level (or lack of) and was not guaranteeing anything, so expectations were never high from the start thankfully.
Some more cooking up at the moment, will get some on shortly.
PeteMcDMemberYou seriously nailed these ones. They look like photos taken by a thinking photographer. Your sense of balance in composition obviously transfers from your landscapes. Your focus on expression was a good oneāthat is what matters to the bride and groom when they’re looking back through their album. You’ve caught some really great moments and trusted your cut. The fact that, according to you, you’re rubbish with people is not evident in these shots. The subjects look comfortable, because you looked comfortable and in control. Well done!
ExpresbroParticipantReally nice set Ken. It’s all been said already above, and I just think the attention to detail is fabulous.
It’s funny that you mention Damien Lovegrove, because I think these shots would not go amiss in a collection of his. I really like No.1 actually..just love the spontaneity of it. If I was getting married again I’d definitely have your phone number in my book, if I could afford you ;-)
I guess if Martin is Simon Cowell that must make me Paula Abdul ;-)
