Oh yes a lovely set indeed. I particularly like the first one, and agree with Alan about the minimalistic approach, but hey I know you can’t really clone those out. But still and beautiful shot. I really like the 2nd as well.

BTW: Where is this? Is it Portmarnock by any chance, across the road from Tamango’s?

    Thanks Brian

I see what Alan means, might try a different viewpoint next time although the main rocks are about 20 foot high so difficult to avoid. This is the Forty Foot in Sandycove next to Joyce’s Martello tower of Ulysees fame.

Really interesting location with some great characters brave enough to swim in the freezing winter temperatures even with a photographer standing nearby :).

    As already mentioned J…lovely set.

The first is the strongest IMO.

I knew I had a fairly dark filter around – and just checked – it is the HOYA ND400 which is a 9 stop filter. I don’t believe it has the same colour cast problems as the BW 10 Stop Filter, but obviously the 1 stop does make a substantial difference. It represents the difference between a 30 sec exposure and a 1 minute exposure for instance.
I will have to get out and use it now :D
