First wedding as second shooter….
-
BrianParticipant
Hi,
Just looking for any thoughts on some shots I took at a relations wedding about six weeks ago. I was the “unofficial” wedding photographer I suppose. Not affiliated with the official photographer at all :) I just concentrated on candids and getting some shots when the photographer wasn’t around.
The rest are here, there are a good few! http://picasaweb.google.com/Mickeyormackey/MaryDanWeddingSelection
Just a few things to keep in mind before you view them;
1. I just had the camera about two days (my first camera).
2. I was keeping out of the other guys way so I don’t have a lot of the “main” photos.
3. There are various exposure, focus, processing issues etc! I suppose basically i’m looking for comments on the framing, content and that kind of thing.
So, excuses out of the way, thanks for looking. I’d like to get into wedding photography eventually. I enjoyed it on the day, although obviously a lot more pressure when you are the main guy!
steelydanParticipantNot a bad effort for a first time with a camera photographer.
One small bit of advice, some of your shots are too close, maybe back off a little.By what I mean too close is that the top of hair is missing from some shots etc, you are trying to fill the frame too much. (just my opinion)
But you have some great candid shots especially the kids, The young lad with the fists, the girl with the hat, dad and son swinging around.These are the ones the couple will probably want as it shows them relaxed and doing something natural.
Over all though you did a great job and don’t worry about the exposure looks like you had plenty variety of lighting conditions all day
Sorry Brian about posting in the wrong thread, I was after looking at your album and just wandered back into the wrong thread accidentally.
JohnChaalkParticipantSome lovely photos, i love the way they are so natural & not so posed as most wedding photos are. Joy to have a flick through this album for me :D
BrianParticipantThank you. There is actually a narrowed down selection on my flickr (link below) with different processing if you want a look. :)
