First Zoo shots
-
KPMParticipant
Took the camera to the zoo for the first time to “shoot” some animals. Froze my ???? off !!.
Sadly half the Zoo appears to be under construction, but I renewed my membership so expect
to be heading back for a second attempt in the near future.Joe Elway & Rene need not be worried, but I did get a couple of decent shots (I think).
Regards
Kevin
steelydanParticipantI like your photos kevin some nice rewards for the cold day. I like the Phyton one (i hope) it has nice shapes and curves within the photo.I can’t wait to get up there for a day, when the weather improves and the construction is finished.
Noely FParticipantGodd shots, what settings did ya use for the python…..mine were crap, I didnt want to use flash :)
KPMParticipantHi Noely,
I took a few in the reptile house but this was really the only possible keeper.
Details as follows
Camera – D200
Lens 18-200 VR
Settings 1/6 of a second : F5.6 with exp comp of -.03 : ISO 500Had to press the lens against the glass due to the long shutter speed (looks like the VR helped
:!: )Regards
Kevin
joe_elwayParticipantYou wouldn’t have gotten me in there today or this weekend. I thought about it today but it’s too cold. We just had a few wno flurries and it looks like we had snow settle last night. Most all I did this weekend other than a few quick snaps was drive to Tacumshane Lake in Wexford where there’s still maybe a hundred or so swans.
ExpresbroParticipant10/10 for braving the cold in the zoo for sure Kevin  To me, the snake shot is the best..I never got near any of the inside enclosures the day I was there, but can see they would have been more attractive on a freezing day…especially the reptile house
Bring on the sun and I’ll get back down there… didn’t spend enough time last time.
shutterbugParticipantBet there wasnt many people around though? The cold weather
has its good points :) I love the snake great colour in it. The elephants
are supposed to be making there debut on the 1st May they are already
in residence (somewhere! where DO you hide an elephant?)
