Flash for 500d

jonwrightParticipant
Anyone recommend a flash for my 500d that won’t break the bank please. I have a Speedlite 430EZ from my old eos 650 film camera but not sure that will work,think only in M mode?
thanks Jon
Also thinking of selling my Canon EOS 650,what would be a realistic price to be asking for it?
many thanks
JonphillipMembercant really give any recommendations but posted links below
they have a new one coming out soon

thanks JonDepthOfFeelParticipantIn the same boat here myself for my 550d. Have heard a lot of good things about the Nissin(link below), as a cheaper alternative to the Speedlites, has TTl compatability too. Although can’t vouch myself for it as haven’t used it.
Would love to hear some advice too!http://www.nissindigital.com/en/Di866-1.html” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
tsergairlMemberI’ve got this flash gun (which Philip recomm) is FANTASTIC, now my wife use it with 500D :-)

Jonactually, this prcie is very good IMO, i bought main about one year ago for 88 euro from china so i had to pay duty as well :-(
and i forgot to tell , than i dropped twice this flash on concrete , the case is cracked, but the lamp is till working in 100% :-)
Chris
jonwrightParticipantthanks for that Chris,you’re talking about the one for £63? that is a good price and this would do me fine as my main flash?Jon
tsergairlMemberI am talking about this lamp:

so IMO this is the same flash :-)
jonwrightParticipantjonwrightParticipantOrdered one today for €72 including p&p can’t wait to get flashing!no that sounds wrong!!lol
aitch3ParticipantHiya, don’t forgrt to factor in some dosh for a diffuser, otherwise your pics might come out all harsh and nasty with direct flash
