Very nice image Warren, the water drops make it, without them it would be just another flower. I assume you were using the nifty-fifty lens, can’t go wrong there.
I’m no expert but I had a look at the exif data and I reckon you could have used f5.6 which as you were shooting in AP mode would have dropped your shutter speed to 1/320″ from the 1/640″ at f4 here, still plenty of light for the 50mm. This might have brought the far side of the flower into focus yet still given you enough dof to keep the background oof. I also notice you shot at iso 800, was this intentional? Though there is not much noise visible to me it could be more evident in other shots, always worth checking this setting along with the white balance before starting a session, once shot a load of seascape images near Sligo with Tungsten White Balance, luckily I shot in RAW, though they were still rubbish  ……/Mikka
Thanks for the comments!
I looked at it upside down but I think I prefer it as it is.
I agree that maybe f5.6 would have improved the shot, and no iso 800 wasn’t intentional. I saw the flower and took a few quick snaps before the next rain shower without checking the settings. Still, the result isn’t too bad all things considered.
