For Sale- Canon 17-40L lens, excellent condition, very little use. 650.00 euros. Bought the sigma 12-24 to get even wider!
in Limerick at 087 2841596Both AC-Foto.de and 7Dayshop have this new for ?679. While I want get to such a lens, my 20D packed in and I got a 30D instead :(
Thanks for the ” random thoughts “. Mine’s here and ready to go. Nobody ever lists a price without allowing for some degree of horse trading. Trying doing that with AC or 7Day. Better yet just go to Dublin and pick one up for 950+ euros.
that’s even better. I think there’s also a guy on a street corner in Shanghai that’ll let you have for 300- no questions asked!

whats with the sarcasm, I had no intention to be funny with you. I was just correcting your inaccurate statement. the fact you said it was 950+ in dublin, when actually thats not correct and its 850 in berminghams.

I think Steve that our Limerick friend has joined up with the sole intention of selling a lens; his only
posts to date are in this thread – no critiques, no images for critique, no general photograph Q or A.

Hey lads- all I did was post a lens at the exact same price as Seamus did back in April of this year. I didn’t see anyone correcting his pricing strategy. The 950+ price came from the website of a major Dublin shop. You can take the pricing corrections a step further and say that B&H in NYC has it for $650.00 or about 450 euros….. And yes my goal is to sell a lens- if anybody wants it I got it and as I stated I’m open to reasonable offers. Thanks for all the help!!!
I guess that’s the beauty of such a forum:
You can ask whatever you want for your stuff and others are free to post what the current market price for the item is.
This way you can try to sell and potential buyers have a way of gettting all the info they might need from their point of view.In the end you correctly said you are open to offers – and if the deal gets done through PM we probably won’t find out what you will be selling it for in the end. If you sell it.
Hauke- Thanks for your comments. I have no fear of selling the lens, if not here then ebay, where a similiar lens is at 330gbp and is still a day away from closing. I just don’t understand why Seamus, I guess a long time member, didn’t recieve the same pricing criticisms when he priced his lens at 650 euros in April. I guess being new here it’s , well, open season. I had thought about listing my canon 24-70L and 24t/s lenses here as well, as the mamiya ZD looks very promising.

It’s not ‘open season’, they might have just missed it the last time it has been posted.
Remember, it’s an open forum and they are entitled to post prices.
Try to take it with humor, but avoid sarcasm :wink:Obviously it might help your sale if you introduce yourself to the forum and maybe interact somehow iin the discussions.
After all, we know very little about you.I am sure there are members out there that are following this with interest and are waiting for you to list your other lenses.

I seriously wasnt trying to pick you up, just clarify a fact, you didnt say a particular shop in dub, you just said dub. and so that was incorrect
Ok. ok points taken- now if we could just get back to the subject- I have a canon 17-40L lens, in excellent condition for sale. I still have the original case and box as well. It’s official price is 650.00 euros and I’m open to reasonable offers. I’m based in Limerick but am up in Dublin frequently and could meet up there if necessary. 087 2841596
