Clever use of the space – not often you see the thirds rule adhered
to so closely in a portrait. The exposure and lighting look excellent
(though you’ll get more educated comments than mine). I’m not sure
about the gap between his legs because it looks a bit odd and introduces
a strange perspective.
I had a cleft chin like that when I was a tiny bit leaner.
It looks little bit grey.
I don’t think that the light is great. I would awoid the reflections on forehead, nouse and fingers.
The gap between the legs is not very good as Pete said. I would crop out completelly the leg and keep only the top part…..
IMO
I agree with the previous comments about cropping the bottom
from the image as it doesn’t really add anything. I’d imagine you
should crop up far enough to lose the jeans completely. It might
be worth revisiting your processing too to try to eliminate the
hot spots on his forehead, nose and fingers. Good portrait though,
good model with good expression. Nice work Luc.
Thank you for your comments.
For the gap between the legs, I admitt that it is awkward.
But I have tried the crop over the legs, and I find that the picture loose its sitting. As the face and the arm are a bit lean forward, it then seems that he is about to fall down.
Another thing is the black pullover. It gives a big black mass, not really nice on itself, and if it is not balanced by some white/gray in the lower part it just overwhelms the whole picture.
