Frankie in colour

ciaranParticipant
I spent some time with Frankie yesterday. I didn’t take too many shots, but this is one of my favourites. Shot using natural light (and a tiny wee squirt of fill). No adjustments in colour/exposure.. those eyes are all hers! Comments welcome.
PeteTheBlokeMemberLooks marvellous to me Ciaran. If it was my photo and you were offering critique, what would you say?
I think you’d be pretty full of praise, but you’d mention the central catchlights. Am I right?
Her eyes are lovely, BTW. You’re right there.

Yeah, these have been pointed out to me  I may just reposition the catch lights before I print this one off. As is usual with me, impatience got the better of me, so I posted it before making the tweak.
Not Pete the blokeParticipantIf it was mine, I think I would have posted it straight away too. It oozes class to me. Is the DOF all straight out of camera – looks like fairly wide open? Love the pose, and especially the colours.
10/10 even with the cathchlights.ciaranParticipantbrandyman wrote:

10/10 even with the cathchlights.Yup.. straight out of the camera. F1.4 – posted with full EXIF. Thanks :D
BethscottParticipantHey Just thought I would drop by, Ciaran emailed this to me and I love it. He was a pleasure to work with which means when I see the images I love them even more. What can I say it’s a great shot and I am really pleased. Oh and Brandyman – ‘it oozes class’ that is because I am a classy chick!!!
Take Care guys and Thanks Ciaran.
Not Pete the blokeParticipantlol…..I thought it looked like Beth, but I was thrown by the ‘frankie’ reference
1.4 Ciaran? What lens do you have at that aperture, a 50mm? I was thinking of upgrading my 50mm 1.8 to a 1.4 and the DOF here is helping me make my mind up.Beth – you said it girl! :P

As usual another stunner
Only thing i would play with is how dark the eye lashes are, I think they maybe look to heavy for Beths face, which is a stunner
But i guess thats just personal taste
Did you use a reflector to get the light even or was it just as is

So the catchlights are the small highlights in the eyes… jees, I always learn something.
Besides that she has lovely eyes, I like the ring and the scarf. I think this is the eye-contact with the camera what I missed with my portraits. Good to see shots like this.
ciaranParticipantThorstenMemberGorgeous! Could do with being a tad warmer (IMHO) but that’s a niggle more than a fault. I love it!

I can sell you a print if you’re interested :D I’ll even warm it up a little for you  Cheers Thorsten
gerardkParticipantI like it – the eyes of course make this picture. The natural light really suits the model and white balance seem spot on to me.
SodafarlMemberCiaran an absolute cracking picture and yes the eyes are beautiful (and I learned what catchlights are too)
