Here’s one I’ve posted elsewhere. It was taken just over a month ago when on holiday, and still reminds me of Honda’s ‘power of dreams’ advert.
This couple were setting off for a run on their motorcycle just as the sun was setting over the sea in the background. Back home they’ve probably got lots of worries about everyday things, a huge mortgage, etc etc – but you wouldn’t know it here, lol.
ThorstenMemberAs was mentioned elsewhere before, the black railing just kills this shot (IMHO). I think this is a good example where it would be acceptable (to me, at least) to remove the railing. Although the decision to remove or not must be made on the basis of the final destination of the image and how thruthfull a representation of the scene is necessary.
RobertoMemberMick451ParticipantAgree with t’others, it’s a really good shot ruined by the bar going through it. Hope you don’t mind me faffing:
davenewtParticipantRobertoMemberelludeParticipantMick – Thanks for doing that :) Actually I’m very impressed that you were able to remove the railing so convincingly – especially on this small saved-for-web pic. I’d considered trying this myself on the full size version, which would be easier, but hesitated after noticing the railing was directly behind awkward bits like the motorcycle handlebars, brake cables etc. Seemed like too much work, lol.
Maybe it’s because I’d become familiar with this section of road, as we stayed just yards away, but having the railing in the picture actually didn’t look “out of place” to me at all. But now I’ve seen it removed I like that look too!
This shot, old friends having a chat as the sun goes down, was from the same place.
Mick451ParticipantGlad you liked the retouch, honestly, it’s a very rough and ready one.
Simple things like that shouldn’t put anyone off submitting potentially saleable photos to stock libraries, professional designers can photo-edit most things quite quickly these days.
