    Very nice Sharon. Really like the light in this one, and in
    particular the shadows from the perforations in the collander.
    Very good angle, and just the right depth of field to keep the
    background tiling nicely blurred. Garlic, tomatoes, basil and broadleaf
    parsley; most of the right ingredients for a good Ragu there…

    Lovely Sharon – It certainly appeals to me. Echo all of Rob’s comments. The depth of field and lighting gives it a really fresh look. Those shadows through the collander makes me think of a summers day, reinforcing the thought that these are just picked.

    Looks very tasty – hope you enjoy it.

    One of your best I’d say.

    Rob~~ thanks so much, I appreciate your comments so much as it was a photo that I struggled with. You know that I do so little post processing and often I feel like I miss the mark without having the tools to tweak bits and pieces. I am delighted you like it! As for the recipe..you are just about spot on here~~here is the description from my flickr page :D

    ~~~~I have been inundated with herbs and tomatoes lately…I’m not complaining..but the neighbors don’t even answer the door anymore when they see me coming with my basket!
    Went out and picked these for dinner tonight~~parsley..basil..garlic..and two types of tomatoes. My youngest son hates spaghetti (weird I know) so tonight it is angel hair pasta with pinenuts..now how weird is that…no spaghetti mom…but angel hair is just fine!~~~~
    Mr. H~~ Wow! thanks so much for the approval….I am glad the essence comes through…that is a huge compliment. Was it tasty?…it was squisito!
    I like this a lot, Sharon. Colours, cpomposition, lighting, very well done.
    I would be curious, how it looked with the left edge of the bowl being sharp.
    I know, I know…one of the first things I learned from this site was skip the vaseline..
    but I think I impatient and unhappy with this.
    ~sigh~ Here ya go Zoltan…please do anything with it to make it look better!
    btw..this was taken with the 18-55mm…my 50mm 1.8….just broke in two…used it about three times..opened my bag..and it was just split in two…I was shocked!!
    I am not going to do anything with it, I liked the vaseline version :) I was just curious, how would it look if the effect wasn’t there of it it was more subtle… I think your edit works well.
    Re. broken lens, here’s a few tips: Try not using your camera bag as a door stop, chair or weapon against burglars… Hope, you still have warranty on it!
    Well thanks for that Zoltan! Feel much better that you like it alright…I so appreciate your input. It’s very helpful to me :) I don’t have as much control over the blur as I’d like with the minimal tools that I have, but I am switching soon. Yay :D
    As for that lens. I was heartbroken. I called the place I bought it and they told me to contact Canon.
    Thanks for the list of unreasonable uses for my camera bag. So glad you didn’t mention football as a no no. I was afraid maybe it was my fault for a while.
    Shar
