    Love them both!

The baby has a bright happy eyes and a tad of a mischivious grin….and the adult (mom perhaps?) looks wise and mature and kind.

You did well to get such animated expressions on both.

Great shots! How did you get them this close at 300mm? Is there a lot cropping?

    No cropping what so ever

    I was using a 400L f5.6 on a 30D

Like them both, but the first shot has that cute factor about it.

Nice captures Steve. I’d be tempted to boost the contrast and crop top and right on both shots.

That baby Urang is still one of the cutest things ever. You got him nice and sharp. Those eyes!

There are quite a few other babies there

i am not sure what the name is but the first monkeys you meet from the entrance have two really small babies

then the giraffe and elephant etc

Two really good shots Steve. Two of the closest shots of the Orangs I’ve seen to date. I’d agree with Aiden on the contrast…especially in the second one…it needs a bit of a boost to give it some more zing and it would be a real cracker. Also a little dark around the eyes on No.2 ..would be nice to see a little more life in the eyes…that’s if you’re looking for total perfection..which of course you are

Lovely stuff Steve. I just love the Orangs, my favourite animal.

Much nicer eyes on that one Steve….lots more detail and light.

Always think photographing apes is as close to people photography you’re going to get..fascinating to study them.
